The 2018 Honda CR-V Is a Worthy Replacement to The Previous Honda Compact Crossover
The newest generation of Honda CR-V picks up where the previous generation left off. Not a bad start considering that the previous CR-V was America's best-selling SUV over the past 20 years. The 2018 Honda CR-V ranges from the economical two-wheel drive LX model to the premium all-wheel drive Touring version.
The new generation Honda CR-V is a hit with the critics, and has already been awarded the J.D. Power "2017 U.S. APEAL Study Award", the "2017 Best New Car for Teens" by U.S. News & World Report and earned the
"Must Test Drive" Award by Autotrader. We’re pretty excited about the new CR-V at El Monte Honda as well.
All new in 2017, the 2018 CR-V returns with Honda’s sophisticated 1.5 L DOHC direct-injected, turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 190 horsepower. The 1.5 L turbocharged engine is available in EX and higher trim levels. Mated to the continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Honda G-Shift, the 1.5 L two-wheel drive CR-V achieved the highest EPA fuel economy ratings in the compact SUV class: 28 mpg City, 34 mpg Highway, and 30 mpg Combined*
A 2.4 L DOHC, direct-injected four-cylinder i-VTEC engine with 184 peak horsepower, also backed by the CVT, powers the base-level LX model.
With a suspension system more likely to be fitted to a luxury car than a compact SUV, the CR-V chassis features an independent MacPherson strut front suspension, multi-link rear suspension with floating subframe, variable-ratio electric power steering, fluid-filled suspension bushings, front and rear stabilizer bars. All designed to provide a comfortable ride on road, off road, and even potholed.
Premium, Spacious and Connected Interior
The 2018 CR-V features a spacious cabin, with its best-in-class rear seat legroom and a large, flexible cargo area. The new generation CR-V features upgraded materials throughout, including a soft-touch instrument panel and intricately stitched seats.
Looking for the latest in-vehicle connectivity and audio performance? Available features on the Honda CR-V include a seven-inch touchscreen Display Audio interface with Android operating system as well as an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System developed in conjunction with the GPS experts at Garmin.
Some of the key comfort and convenience features available on the 2018 Honda CR-V include remote engine start, dual-zone climate controls, heated side mirrors, a space-saving and convenient Electric Parking Brake (EPB), rear USB charging ports, front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment and driver's seat with 8-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support, and heated front seats.
Advanced Safety and Driver-Assistive Technology
Standard equipment on EX and higher trim levels of the 2018 CR-V is Honda Sensing, a safety system that includes technologies such as Collision Mitigation Braking with Forward Collision Warning and pedestrian sensing capability, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with low-speed follow and Lane Keeping Assist. Additional driver-aid technologies include the available blind spot information, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor and Auto High Beam headlights.
We’ve only scratched the surface of what the 2018 Honda CR-V has to offer, and what makes it so popular. Book a test drive or just drop by El Monte Honda and allow a member of our knowledgeable and experienced sales staff take you through a new CR-V. We think you’ll like what you see.
